Tour for Two at Walltown

Tour Walk to Sycamore Gap

Full Day Safari Tour

Welcome >> Tours >> Full Day

A Full Day Safari Tour lasts about eight hours, which allows time for a really good exploration of the heritage and landscape On, Along and Off the Wall.

All Tours are exclusive to the interests of those on them (whether that be one person travelling solo, or a group of upto six) and as such can be very diverse with regard to any specific interests and preferences. Some choose just to concentrate on the Wall area itself, whilst others have opted to go Off the Wall into the Scottish Borders or along cross-country tracks in search of migrating birds in the North Pennines - the choice is yours.

Walks on the Wall can be anywhere along a 30-mile section of it, taking in the likes of Birdoswald, Walltown, Steel Rigg, Sycamore Gap and Housesteads. Many take the opportunity of visiting the Roman Army Museum and Vindolanda (the only ongoing archaeological dig site in the vicinity of the Wall), where new finds turn up on a daily basis during the digging season.

Pick-up and drop-off is usually from an agreed convenient location in the central area (eg Haltwhistle Railway Station or Once Brewed Vistor Centre), or it could be from your accommodation in this area. We can also make arrangements to pick you up or drop you off in Carlisle or Newcastle - we've even gone further afield to Durham and the Lake District.
