There may be numerous options for places to stay in the area of Hadrian's Wall, however a special effort is made to see that you are accommodated in what is right for you - be it a Bunkhouse, Cottage, Farmhouse, Country Inn, Country House Hotel, or even a Castle.

The accommodation booked on your behalf is hand-picked from a selected list, with the current accommodation situation being continually monitored from our permanent base on Hadrian's Wall. That is achieved by regular visits, talking to both accommodation providers and clients alike. So if things improve in any way, then we're likely to know about it before anyone else does and likewise, if standards slip in any way, we know about that too.

It goes without saying that you can source your own accommodation and if you like an element of surprise (whether it's good or bad), then you can always make your own arrangements. However, if you prefer some kind of reassurance that someone has already checked out the suitability of your accommodation beforehand, then you will appreciate our Booking Service.

Coupled with recent feedback from clients and our own observations, we're aware of the fact that * ratings are somewhat confusing - bearing in mind that you can actually find different levels of  accommodation and facilities within the same establishment. Consequently, with consideration for which rooms our clients will actually be in, we grade our Accommodation and Services into five categories - I Denarius upto V Denarii. The following list can be taken as a rough guide with regard to the type of room as well as the general standard of the accommodation -

• V Denarii - Country House / Castle / Hotel - 'Out of the Ordinary' facilities

• IV Denarii - Country Inn / Hotel / Farmhouse / Guest House - 'Beyond the Ordinary' facilities

• III Denarii - Guest House / Farmhouse / Cottage - En-suite Bedrooms

• II Denarii - Farmhouse / Guest House - Own Bedroom with shared facilities / En-suite where available

• I Denarius - Bunkhouse / Guest House / Hostel - Own Bedroom with shared facilities
