8 Days or more -

If time is on your side, the longer you have, the more you can see and the longer you can take to see it. It's not unusual for visitors to come for two weeks and some have even come for a week longer than that.

There are various places where you could happily spend a whole day exploring. A day on the North Sea Coast gives you the chance to see Arbeia Fort at South Shields, as well as Tynemouth Castle and Priory. Or a day in Newcastle means you can visit the Great North Museum. Some choose to spend a whole day just at Vindolanda. Many opt for a day in Carlisle, seeing its Castle, Tullie House Museum and Cathedral.

Bear in mind that the Wall is only a one hour train ride away from the likes of York, the Lake District and Edinburgh. The World Heritage Site of Durham Cathedral is only a 20 minute rail journey from Newcastle.

We've also had clients who have tied in a week along the Wall followed by a week's walk across the hills of Northumberland via Rothbury and Cragside, then up the fantastic coastline past Warkworth, Craster, Dunstanburgh Castle, Alnmouth, Seahouses, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island and Berwick.
